How we help communities thrive
OUR PROGRAMS = OUR HOW
By integrating innovative funding models, technical assistance, and community empowerment strategies, HomeBase Cincinnati creates pathways for vibrant, resilient neighborhoods and economic growth throughout the region- thanks to our decades long relationship with the City of Cincinnati, working hand in hand with the City’s Department of Community and Economic Development, and our local funding partners.
Comprehensive Support Services:
Managing federal, city, and grant funding to ensure effective community development.
Offering project management, training reimbursements, technical expertise and skills, and operational support grants.
Creating and managing programs like the CDC Project Manager Training Fellowship, Down Payment Assistance, Quick Strike fund, and the VTICA Neighborhood Support fund to comprehensively revitalize neighborhoods.
Impact and Community Engagement:
Successfully disbursing over $5 million in funding in 2023 to catalyze community initiatives across Cincinnati.
Focusing on resident engagement and community-led initiatives, exemplified by efforts in neighborhoods like Sedamsville and Carthage.
Strategic Placemaker and Partner:
Acting as a central resource and connector in the Cincinnati community development ecosystem, HomeBase bridges the gap between community goals and actionable plans.
Aligning with local, state, and federal stakeholders to foster policy changes and infrastructure investments that benefit communities.
QUICK STRIKE FUND
The Quick Strike Fund provides financial assistance for real property acquisition and acquisition related costs in Cincinnati neighborhoods. The program is designed and managed by HomeBase Cincinnati. The City of Cincinnati provided the initial funding for the program in December 2023.
OSG FUNDING
The Operational Support Grant (OSG) is a competitive funding source made available through the City of Cincinnati Department of Community and Economic Development to provide Community Development Corporations (CDCs) with operating and project support.
DPA PROGRAM
The Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program was created in collaboration with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation to distribute approximately $100,000 of funding to support Community Development Corporations (CDCs) with their property sales.
VTICA NEIGHBORHOOD FUND
The purpose of VTICA funds is to improve the quality of life and encourage intra-community organization collaboration. Under the current ordinance, the VTICA funding must be used within the neighborhood for which the funding was collected and cannot be combined and shared with other neighborhoods.
