Food Access & Healthy Communities RoundTable

Join us on April 23rd to discuss Food Accessibility and Healthy Communities. We will have meaningful group discussion on new resources CDCs have access to, to improve community nutrition, health-related business ventures, and partnerships. Current social determinants of community health will also be discussed including what CDCs are currently doing, what tools can help them to do more, and how to work cooperatively in preventing chronic diseases through food to promote healthy living.


Jan Harper-Jackson, Buckeye Health:

Jan Harper Jackson has 50 years of experience working in the health care industry. She has worked in hospitals, community clinics, universities and community-based agencies.She has held management, health education, and program development positions in Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) such as Choice Care Humana, Medical Mutual and Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Currently, Jan has had the privilege of helping families and consumers at Buckeye Health Plan since 2007.

Alisha Stevenson, 4 Awareness:

Alisha Stevenson is a former police officer. She served on the City of Cincinnati’s Police Department for 13 years.  She retired in February 2018 after her battle with colorectal cancer and continues to serves the community as a wellness advocate. She decided to do something positive with her diagnosis and founded 4 Awareness with her husband. 4 Awareness is a non-profit that aids cancer patients during their journey’s, spreads awareness on colorectal cancer and promotes natural avenues to wellness.  She is a co-founder of Ohana Health Coach Inc. Ohana Health Coach provides opportunities and space to relax and rejuvenate. Ohana offers wellness hacks and understands that is takes resources and community to be well.
